Mary Kay (Whitbeck) Milquet and Dan Milquet, each love history and family research, dating back to when they began researching their families in the 1980s. They became more interested in De Pere's history as they gleaned what they could about their family. Mary Kay serves on the Board of Directors of the De Pere Historical Society. She has thirteen Revolutionary War patriot ancestors and is a member of the Jean Nicolet Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. She co-authored the chapter's centennial book, DAR: A Century of Service in 2006. In addition, she was a columnist and wrote a weekly "Back in Time" column for the De Pere Journal from 2003-2006. She also published De Pere of Yesteryear - Volume II in 2022.
